Fun times

Recently i have been able to talk with people who are new to the faith/their faith. I find it to be a rewarding experience as i get to see them mull through areas of theology I have struggled with.

School is a killer....really tough right now.

been really busy of late....I'll sit down later with something to say.

bored out of my mind

it is sooo boring when no one is around.

gosh oh gee how happy i'ld be...

I have christmas songs going through my head. HELP!!!

I will tell them of your love and sovereignty, how You give limitless love and mercy. Most of all I'll them the most important thing I have heard. I'll give them this message from your Holy Word.You sent your son to Calvary, from sin to set them free. And if they accepted Him, your Holy Spirit will set them free.

Bleach

Okay this may be a far stretch but follow me here. So...recently i began to watch Bleach, a japinese cartoon(anime). It is pretty interesting. Anywho-in the beggining the main character, Ichigo, is having trouble controlling his spiritual energy. Boy, I wish I had that problem. So many times i find myself laying back in situations that beg for me to share Christ or to be Christ-like.

Christianity is suppose to be applied on the offensive(like not defense) side of the equation. In Matthew 16:18, Jesus reminds peter that the church which He will build will be established-in fact it will be established so well that even the gates of Hell will not be able to stand against the message of christianity. So many times i believe that to mean Hell is attacking heavens gates, but Jesus is saying that the gates OF HELL will not be able to stand.

...so nothing has come your way because i recently pinched the nerve in my "8th cervical vertebrae(or something like that). My arm/neck hurts like the dickens. I'll try to write something once i have some coherent thoughts.

ever had one of these days

Yeah-so i seemed to have one of these days yesterday were i couldn't figure anything out. I was frustrated and confused. Luckily we always have James 1:2-4. Count it ALL joy when we fall into trials. How hard is that? All Joy All the time. God is good enough to provide us with everything we need, how can we not have joy?

...and for my first serious post

So....I have been slowly(oh so slowly) reading through the book Humility by C. J. Mahaney. The forward by is written by Josh Harris(author of I kissed dating goodbye) and he makes a poignant point(yeah for alliteration). He mentions how humility is a characteristic we all desire....or better yet...that we desire others to see us as having. He notes we have all learned to act humble....downcast eyes, shrugging shoulders, uttering phrases like "oh anyone could do it." All the while we are congratulating ourselves for appearing to be so humble.

Mahaney starts developing the idea of humility with a simple statement: "humility is honestly assessing ourselves in light of God's holiness and our sinfulness."

YEAH-that hits it straight home doesn't it. The book is an excellent read(at least what i have read so far) and i encourage everyone to pick it up.

My first blog

Note 1-I have no clue how often i will post to this. However, seeing as ODU gives me a lot of free time to think... i figure i will post pretty often.
